SORRY I put my post in the wrong form. I'm new to this great site and this is my first (second if you count my boo boo) I'm not a professonel I just get my nails done every two week. My problem is I have L/P on my own nails and I love french manicure I get cotton candy then airbrushed french but when the airbrush dries the tip color crackes. My teck doesn't know why this happens Im tired of always having to get colored nail I love french .Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening

have you ever tried pink and whites (permanent french)? they look very nice with opalescent colors like cotton candy over them. that would be my first suggestion.

second... does your tech put the polish on, then airbrush the white tip? assuming so, is the polish dry? does your tech put a top coat on? maybe ask for a UV top coat.

there are a lot of airbrushing geeks who i'm sure can help!

It could be that the base colour Cotton Candy is not compatible with the Acrylic top coat which is what is usually used when airbrushing nails. Cracking will occur when there is a difference between the products as they dry they contract at different rates.

It may be worth your Tech getting some base coat which is suited to airbrushing, and then some sealer as a top coat there are a few sites which specialise in these products and then try again.

Hope this helps!

Regards

Mandy

I think that's a problem with airbrushed tips as it isn't nail polish.

Ask your tech to paint a French freehand and put a good topcoat on and you'll see the difference. If she gives you a load of excuses as to why you shouldn't have that, that'll be because she can't paint a French freehand.

Thank all of you to give me insite on this Thanks again

When you say you have cotton candy, is this a polish or the Ezflow coloured acrylic?
The alnswer to this may help with the advise we give you!

I find that regardless of polish makes - cracking usually occurs when base layer or airbrush deisgn is not dry.

Tell your Tech to make sure nails are super clean before applying a good quality base - airbrush base is best, then the cotton candy wait till it dries completly (you may have to wait up to 20 mins) airbrush the french by spraying dry ( she should know what is meant by that) and airbrush top coat. Make sure your tech is NOT using a speed dry top coat as this will defo give the cracking! If this doesnt work than tell her to phone whoever she trained with and ask them why - they will know what is best for their products.

Hope this works for you.

oh and why doesnt she do a permanent french for you using pink & white?

I think she's talking about cotton candy polish

Hi there and welcome to the site.

Why don't you ask your nail tech if she can do you a permanant French finish?? That means she uses white powder and liquid on the free edge with a nice smile line then a clear or a pink on your nail bed.

Ask her if she can do this if she cant ask her why not? Its a basic procedure!! If not i am sure there are other techs in your area that can do it!

You could try one of the product hot lines for your area on their websites they have phone numbers where you can ring and have a master technician recommended to you in your area.
