My hairdresser is on maternity leave and i need to get my glue in extensions out, ive not got the money to go to another salon and those who ive asked said no as they didnt do them. I have acetone anyway so any advice on not killing my hair would be great!

try putting a really deep conditioning hair mask on your hair. leave it on for ages then try gently working the glue out. the glue should slide out without ripping your own hair with it xx

Don't try to remove them yourself try and find a professional to remove them you will damage your hair and it will take you twice as long.

Not the best advice but yes acetone will break down the bond - a pair of nail scissors will help you break it up - then get two bottles of the aussie hair treatment and slap it all over your hair and comb through - will take ages - but will get them out - got mine out and my hair is fine :)

Wow, I'm very shocked by the diy advice on this thread. Guaranteed bald patches.

Best advice. Please don't try it yourself x

Agree totally with Lauren, some terrible and very wrong advice given here.

Follow it and you will end up with a sticky mess, bald patches, short bits (nail scissors WTF????) and ruined hair.

This is NOT A DIY JOB. SEE A PROFESSIONAL.

I agree totally, this is not something you should attempt to do yourself Please get a professional to remove the extensions.

Thanks everyone for advice. I did say above about the hairdressers and am happy to remove myself, i will report if i have any bald patches. My hair is very strong and thick and am aware its not going to go as well as a pro doing it but im happy with that right now, thats all i can do.
