Hi, I’ve just returned to hairdressing after 5 years away having a family :)

I have a client who used to have highlights and then has recently had a full head colour of bleach and is asking for her roots colouring and then a toner.

Her roots are around a base 7 with a little bit of warmth and I’m thinking of using 12/11 or 12/1 for her roots but the problem is the toner.

She has some very light blonde strands in her hair from her previous highlights but also some warmth from where the hair was coloured after. I’m worried to use an ash toner as it will stick to the very light areas. I need a toner to neutralise both colours to give a nice clean blonde.

I’ve added some pictures that she has sent below

If you use a hi lift tint when she’s already had a full head bleach you wil not get desired lift

I would still consider lifting the root with bleach, high lift won't lift the same way. For your toner I'd use colour touch 10/0 + 10/6

I’d be inclined to do a half and half of 12.0 and 12.1. Anything more neutralising will only make the roots appear warm in contrast with the bleached hair which will likely grab, making it appear blue/purple or whatever the dominant neutralising tone might be. Then I’d do a shadow root to merge the highlift-bleach demarcation and tone the rest.
