Hey Geeks . .

I am absolutely buzzing at the moment as I have just paid up for my Beauty Course with the Yorkshire College of Beauty and will be starting in September. This time next year I will actually be a qualified therapist!!

Having spent many many years working in jobs I didn't really like that much and after having 2 children, I am now in a position where I can make my dream a reality.

Looking to go mobile initially so that I can work around the children and will keep my part time job on also to keep the money coming in but I know it is going to be a hard year setting up.

What I would love is to hear how you all started and have you made a success of it? Any mobile therapist advice?? Any advice at all . . lol.

Good luck honey, you have enthusiasm and energy and will be amazing :)

Hi there!

I just posted my cheque off to YCOB at the weekend too!

I'll be doing the ITEC Beauty Specialist on a Saturday how about you?

I'm really excited too!

Yes! I can't wait! Nice to have found someone else doing it too! Where abouts in Leeds are you? I live in Roundhay...:)

Small world! I am very lucky and live in Yeadon so I can walk there in 15 minutes. I was so impressed when I went to look around and have my interview. It has been so hard getting the fees together but I think it will be well worth it in the end. (will we still be saying this in a years time . . lol!)

I wonder how many of us there will be?? xx

Within walking distance is great! It's not so bad from where I am maybe 20 mins in the car...I was impressed too and I did some research and rang some salons (as I was looking at Thomas Danby/Leeds City College too) and they said generally YCOB students were higher quality.

I know what you mean about fees...gulp...just posted the first cheque for 1/3rd and saving for the rest of it in August!

I hope we'll still be as enthusiastic in a years time...I'm already looking online at what I can add onto it at the end to reach Level 3 :).

I was so giddy the other day I bought my nurses watch and dictionary! What a geek!

I'm not sure how many there will be? When I looked round the classroom didn't look huge so can't imagine there would be more than 20 but maybe not even that many on a Saturday.

I work full time so its been a big decision to give up my saturdays for a year too!

I'm just wishing the time away now until we start!

You will have a great time!

If i can offer any advice it would be to practise, practise, practise! Even better see if you can do some hours in a local salon to get a feel for the job?

I have had excellent therapists from other leeds colleges- i would suggest it is the effort and practise that the individual therapist puts in!!

Good luck!!
:p
