So I've just brought my first set of metal tools for nails and really want to keep them well. I was just wondering how you guys sterilize and disinfect your bits? I've been looking at UV Sterilization cabinets but I really don't know what I need or where to begin? I'd really appreciate any tips, product/equipment recommendations?

Thanking you all in advance!

Uv sterilization cabinet are only any good if you have got 3/4 sets. Cos you have to keep them in so long. Can't beat barbicide for me. 10 mins and they are 100% clean. Some files can also be sterilized by immersion or you can use a spray on them x

I'm mobile and I do my cuticle work etc with my tools then leave them for the rest of the treatment in the barbicide. I have a jar so switch the end to soak half way through and I know when I've finished my tools are super clean for the next time. You can get trays to submerse in too if your mobile. I like for my clients to see me do this process and I point it out to them so they know everything is clean when I come to use it on them. If your salon based keep the same barbicide all day and put fresh in the morning x

I got told it would be a good idea for clients to see some sort of cleaning process to the tools, I agree completely, it gives a little reassurance to clients! Thanks for getting back, I'm defiantly going to look for the trays, seems like a good plan to me!!

I just bought a Tupperware cup in asda that has a screw lid for £1! It's tall enough to fit my tools and ideal for mobile as it doesn't leak!

I use Mundo instead of Barbicide as it only needs to be remade every 5 days ☺
