Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help. I am newly trained in liquid and powder by Creative. I was doing a set of enhancements for a friend last night. She has quite greasy skin & oily nails so I used Scrubfresh, Nailfresh and Acid Free Primer to prevent any lifting. It was all going fine until I put the liquid and powder on. A little while later she said it was tingling and felt hot. I stopped, the feeling went and she said she wanted to carry on. Out of all her nails, this happened on three of them. After the feeling went, she said they felt fine. I finished them off and they were still fine. I told her to keep an eye on them today and if she felt unhappy, I would soak them off. I thought it may be an allergic reaction but it was strange to have only happened on 3 nails. She has never had anything done to her nails before. Any clue what it may have been??

Hi and welcome to the board :)
Just a thought but, do you think you could have been a little over zealous on your prep...as in buffed a little too much on these 3 nails...
Or maybe she has naturally thin nails (I do)
I think you did right by asking her to keep an eye on them.
Maybe someone with more experience can shed more light on this for you.

She did have quite thin nails, they didn't seem particularly strong so I was even more careful than usual. That's what's confusing me!!

Thanks for answering so quickly! Katie

I'm fairly sure there was a thread before about heat sensation from L&P and Geeg said is it possible for some people to feel it, it's a natural occurance of the polymerisation process but is usually so small no-one notices it

I've got to go to do a client at 11.30, but try using the Search option and put 'heat+sensation' in the search and it should come up (unless I've completely lost my marbles and am making it up  )

Hey this is wierd.....this happened to me yesterday as i was doing a collegues nails...it only happened on three nails too..........and it only happened for a few second whilst curing....when i touched them they did feel hot????? She said they a felt abit like when gel is curing (exothermic heat reaction)....i have never ever had this happen with l&p though.......

The salon was quite hot but i did have all the doors and windows open.........i was using ezflow l&p?????

Thank you so much for getting in touch.

I've read the threads, thank you. Don't know why I didn't do that first!

I think I was definitely over-zealous by using Acid Free primer even though I was using Retention +.

I had a feeling that it may be the curing that she could feel. Do you think there will be any damage to her nail plate? She says she doesn't want to wear enhancements all the time anyway, just for special occasions (I think money may be an issue), so she'll probably want them soaked off instead of rebalanced.

That's kind of freaky that it happened to both of us on the same day!

It's only the third set I've done, so it sort of threw me a bit!

Hmmmm thats what i thought when i read your thread.....spooky eh??????

Well as i said it has never ever happened to me before????????

I get the same feeling too but only on my thumbs

Ive definately read a thread by gigi or GMG on here somewhere. Its all to do with th epolymerisation, the curing process. I find this happens to me when using moxie, but maybe the hot weather added to it? Just a thought.

Welcome to the family

I know where your coming from, this happens on both my thumbs and first finger on my right hand (only with L&P) it strange but Im glad to know what causes it now...the feeling doesnt last very long and my nails have always been fine after the removal of the product
