My clients natural hair colour is a base6. I used koleston perfect 6/0 & 20vol to cover a very few grey hairs. The roots lifted to a base 8/0 - why would that be & what would you suggest to use next time? Many thanks in advance

This would happen because koleston perfect is a permanent tint, with ammonia and the potential to lift hair. Adding 20vol will create 1-2 levels of lift.
Added heat from the scalp will boost that lift further.
Use 6/0 colour touch + 1.9% Next time.
There's no need to use a permanent tint if you're trying to create the clients natural colour whilst covering a small percentage of white hair.
Colour touch standard shades give up to 50% white coverage.
