Hi hope someone can help. I've done lots of shellac lately and all been fine however I did four ladies for their Xmas do a week ago and two of them have sent me these pics today. The red ones have varnish on the Ines come off. I'm thinking I may be at fault as the thumbs on the dark ones don't look peeled but wanted to get another opinion and how I should reply to them. Any help really appreciated x

Sorry I can't help as a newbie to shellac but what is the purple glitter colour? It's so lovely xx

Can you go through your prep work?

Thank you. It's black pool with ruby ritz

My prep work is fine I think as I've not had problems elsewhere and been doing it a while. I'm thinking it could be my application maybe or they may have not looked after them properly as they don't usually have nails done. I'm just not sure what to say. Im not really prepared to re do them as it's been a week but need to offer something I think x

I only ask because when it happened to me I hadn't removed all the cuticle away and I got lifting like that.

The one thumb looks picked.

My guess is that they've been picking and playing with them, now they're lifting.
I only do repairs in the first 3 days after that it's down to how they look after them.

If you don't have a written policy on this now is the time to write one!

I have put mine on the home care info sheet I give them on their first appointment

The ring finger has chipped and then lifted. The thumb looks like it has damage under the red polish

Isn't lifting at the free edge due to wear and tear (not looking after them) I agree the thumb is picked but the other to come off in full I would say could be down to application. I would maybe say that you are willing to put back on the ones that have come off however, lifting like this is due to after are on their part or not as this case could be. Do you really think any of them will have them redone? Or done again in the future?! If not maybe just say shellac is upto a 14 day wear and as its after 7 days lifting is likely. Maybe in the future consider enhancements rather than shellac. Hope this helps a little x

What lamp are you using because although the thumb looks like it has been picked it also shows a 'black ' under layer which suggests to me the product has not cured properly .
Could be applied too think or not fully cured hence not adhered properly
