Hi, could anyone please tell me the best nvq theory book to buy? I'm training with an academy and they have me to get a theory book to study at home however I am unsure of the best book/ place to get these from.
Thanks in advance. X

Level 2 NVQ/SVQ diploma hairdressing with barbering units. Leah Palmer/Nicci Perkins is quiet a good book. My friend used this book when she was doing NVQ level 2 the collage recommend it.😊

I thought the Palmer/Perkins book was not very good at all IMO.

The section on Health & Safety was poorly written and included meaningless phrases such as 'the law of the land' etc.

I'd recommend the Hair Foundations Level 2 by Martin Green and Leo Palladino. Far more accurate information.

We use Lvel 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing by Keryl Titmus. Its pretty good.

Thank you all for your replies. Can you get these from WH Smiths etc or do you need to buy these online? X

Hi I am going back into hairdressing after many years, and although I have got City and Guilds and Hairdressing counsel, everything is different now. The cutting is not anything like the way we were taught but I must say better. I have seen nvq level two and three books on amazon so may be a good idea to compare prices. There are also some good cutting demonstrations on u tube.

Good luck
