Hi everyone, I have a lovely older lady who comes to me to have gel colour applied (although she only ever has clear), I think she comes more for the social aspect of it than anything else! Anyway, she has a badly damaged thumb nail which got crushed in an accident at work, I'm not sure how long ago, I never do anything to this nail but she would dearly love to know whether or not there is any hope that it will improve. Would you mind giving me your opinions?

Please note, I am not a qualified nail technician and I don't do any work on this nail at all, other than rub in cuticle oil at the end of the treatment, but I did promise her that I would at least ask the question.

Huge thanks, Yvonne, xxx

In my opinion that nail is not just damaged, it appears to have a bit of infection present. I'm open to correction on that, but it looks that way to me.

I would get her to have that looked at. I have seen nails that look more badly damaged than that though and they've recovered.

Huge thanks for replying, she's coming to see me today so will advise her to get it checked out.

Appreciate the support, Yvonne
