Hey everyone,

I am thinking of creating my own brand of aftercare products and haircare products sometime in the near future. Just wondering if any of you salon owners or freelance stylists thought of having your own brand of products to sell to customers as an extra or is it too much of a risk as people want to go for big name products instead? Would you ever do this and promote your own products in salon and use these or is it best to just go to the professional brands that have really good quality products you can trust? I just thought it could be a great extra to sell shampoo and treatments for hair extensions that are branded to grow brand awareness and give customers a full brand experience. Do any of you have your own product range or thought about having one and if, what is included?

Hi... I think this is an excellant idea...
Good on you for branching out and trying something new.
I personally like trying new products at salons and i like to help the little guy... Big brands are great but if i try a 'little guy' and like them, thats what ill stick to...
Nothing like helping someone you kno...
Good luck with everything
Keep us posted as to how it all pans out!!!

I already do, I only sell Sodium Chloride free shampoo and conditioner, and all the extension aftercare. It's better than Balmain aftercare goes further and I sell it cheaper. I've had my branding put on
everything. I'm in process of having my website enabled for retail so I can sell from there. My clients are well impressed they love it and the price x

Oh thank you do much! That is exactly what I was thinking. Offering small sample sizes and bigger sizes as well and a reconstructive mask. I really want a good clarifying shampoo to give at the consultation. I just think aftercare is so vital for the extensions to look good for longer so therefore I want to really push these products and offer them to make it easier for them.

I have a few friends that do this. On a small scale you make a couple of quid a bottle, not worth the ag really.
Another friend did this on a large scale, after being approached by an investor. Flattered that his "name" would be on products in boots etc, he was completely screwed over and almost went bust.

Yeah I would never want to compete with the big guns at Boots. I want to offer it on a small scale to look professional and build my brand. I will just offer it to clients for a small price to ensure they will take care of their extensions and make it easy and convenient for them.
