So I had my first ever Hollywood today. Was really anxious about having it done as I’m 6 months pregnant and not feeling very body confident atm... the fact a few weeks ago whilst trying to shave my bits I cut myself as I couldn’t see what I was doing properly prompted me to book in with a professional. I’m really pleased... however... that was so sore that I could’ve cried. I don’t know how I sat still, and I’m dreading the next one but I refuse to let myself go as that will make me feel really crap. What Can I do to stop it from hurting so much?

I get so much back when I post on here... [emoji849] after all the professional advice that I give to ppl i rarely get many replies back...

I always believe the first wax is the most painful because the hairs are coarse and strong from shaving. Also you are anxious as it is a new experience.

Next time the hairs should be a bit finer and the wax a little more comfortable. The next one even more.

It's tough with pregnancy because you will be naturally more sensitive and you can't really take painkillers. I'm not sure if you can use numbing cream while pregnant or not.

The best thing is to leave the hair between now and then. Try to be calm, wear loose clothing after and if there's any discomfort afterwards apply sudocrem.

Stick with it. It's worth it x

It will get easier as long as you don’t shave in between and wax regularly. I used to be a real wimp but can now wax my lady garden with minimal pain [emoji15] You don’t say what wax was used but hard wax is definitely less painful than strip

Thank you for your replies! Which numbing cream would you recommend and I’ll research if pregnant women can use it? Xx

She tried both I believe and I didn’t find one better than the other [emoji23]xx

Not sure if this is related at all but when I wax when I'm due on it is SO much more painful - might be related due to hormones etc.
Also, hard wax is the one definitely. Could never go back to strip wax.

Possibly EMLA cream. Also i would say stick with hard wax as there's pretty much no discomfort afterwards x

Where can I buy emla cream from and what would I tell them it’s for? Obviously I couldn’t tell them it’s for pre waxing [emoji85]. [emoji23]
Having to still put aloe Vera on it now [emoji30]xx

Oh dear! That doesn’t sound good. There should be no discomfort after the initial rip.

I’ve tried the Perron Rigot cream but to be honest, it’s all over so fast it’s not really worth it.

This is 24 hours later

Sorry to be graphic, I hope you just see skin nothing else [emoji85] but it’s really red and sore still... is that normal? Xx

I feel like as its your first wax AND your pregnant you will be more sensitive at this time. So I’d say that’s fairly normal tbh. Wait another 24 hours if it’s still like that I would usually apply Sudo cream to help

Thank you, was starting to worry I’d had a reaction to the wax as it hurts to even wear underwear [emoji85]. Xx
