Hi fellow geeks.

I'm finally cutting down on my mobile work and turning my spare room into my new home studio. Having spent the last 3 years bent double doing pedicures 'on the go' my 44 years old back needs a break! (A good break I hasten to add!!)

I'd like to buy a nice (but not crazy expensive) pedicure chair for my clients and would love any recommendations. I intend to sit on the chair I'll be using for my manicures and would like to be able to raise my clients up so their feet are at a more convenient height for me. Any thoughts?

Also, recommendations for an ergonomically designed and comfy chair for me to use whilst doing manicures.

Thanks a lot,

Jenny

I have been looking lots at ideas for a home based salon recently, I came across this set up which looks very nice compared to the usual pedicure chairs and possibly more affordable :)

Thanks. That does look like a lovely set up. X

Yes, I saw this photo and thought how lovely it looked, but then I thought - there's no way my clients have legs long enough to reach my lap over the basin, even if you pull the big chair really far forward! :)

I use this bowl from Ellisons. I have clients seated in a comfy chair with feet either in the bowl or resting on the lid. I sit on a low footrest type seat. I prefer this to having clients feet in my lap and that way I'm not bent forward as much.

I'm hoping to have a platform built, that the clients chair and the pedi bowl will be on, so that they are even higher, to ensure that I won't need to be bent over at all.

Hi Everyone!

After some advice on chairs, I'm after a chair suitable for shellac pedicures using foot spa and for lvl lash lift treatment. I have a small salon and clothing boutique at the moment my clients sit on a two seat sofa for pedicure but obviously can't use that for lvl lash lift and its super annoying having to move around lamp/footspa all the time and I don't think it look very professional. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

thanks Pennie x

Hi Pennie,

Have you considered doing it on a beauty couch? I've just discovered this method and it is super comfy for both the client and us. You can then leave the client on the couch for the LVL straight after. Have a look on youtube, there are some pedicure tutorials with the clients on the bed xx
