Not a degree, of course not. My point was that they study for 3 years (full time yes )for level 3 and are qualified.

And I'm asking a simple question about where this 'stand-alone Podiatry course' can be viewed and no-one can give me an answer! So all I can assume is that it's a bit like unicorns and the Tooth Fairy and doesn't exist.

And which 'Foot Health Clinic' are you talking about - there are dozens on the internet with that title ?
I am also curious to know what training allows yu to use scalpels on clients faces ?

I have a Podiatry qualification which includes skin and nail treatments as a medical speciality and I am posting on the 'nails' forum.

I have already said I don't do 'pampering' - if patients want that service I suggest they see you guys.

I came on this forum to answer the question the OP asked. The answer is that the course she describes does not exist. If anyone wants to take a scalpel to someone's foot to remove callus they can either;
a. take an FHP course
b. complete a Podiatry degree

As I understand it, the Guild of Beauty Therapists do not insure anyone to use a scalpel.

There are some specialist nurses in the NHS that use a scalpel to debride foot ulcers, but they will be working in specialist (usually Diabetic) hospital clinics as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a controlled setting. They will have been taught by a Podiatrist and will be supervised by them.

I hope that makes it clearer.
