I hesitate to ask this but... I really fancy getting a pedicure but, assumming that i can actually find somewhere locally that i can afford, is there any point in booking it as I have athletes' foot. are they just gonna turn me away in an embarrassing manner?

I've always had it and it doesn't bother me anymore so its not something i particularly want to treat.

I would turn you away in a professional manner and tell you to get treatment.
There are lots of good over the counter products, speak to a pharmacist and they may be able to advise you on a suitable treatment, but if it has been going on for years then a dermatologist would be better. referral is available via your GP.

Athletes foot is a fungal dissorder and is contagious. If the infection is not treated, a rash may form on the bottom and sides of your feet. Sometimes, the infection also spreads to the toenails, causing them to become dry and crumbly.

If you scratch the infected skin and then touch other parts of your body, you may cause the infection to spread. It is important to treat the infection and always wash your hands thoroughly after touching the rash. I would get it treated.

There is some great info on the NHS website:

Just my professional thoughts on this.
