I've worked as a volunteer for Shelter washing the feet of the homeless whilst they're waiting for their turn with the chiropodist, and it was actually incredibly rewarding. I learnt very quickly to keep the conversation flowing and maintain eye contact as much as possible. Now I can face ANYONE'S feet! And always know that whatever they're like, I have seen worse! Face your fear, because people love and appreciate having their feet done

aww thats really nice there should be more people like you willing to do things like that, me and a girl i worked with in the salon we did a whole day at the local nursing home and we did manicures and pedicures and we found that really rewarding but also we go back every month and do a few treatments on a few of the residents there as they do like there nails to look nice bless them. :)

I hated feet, I had a real phobia, then a careers computer questionnaire told me reflexology was my perfect match. Yuck, so I did a workshop and had someone with really smelly feet and I thought, if I can do her feet I can do anyones. 9 years later I'm fine with feet although there are still some nasty ones. Just keep telling yourself thatmost people who will come and see you will have washed their feet as they too hate feet. Keep looking at the positives, every foot is worth at least a tenner!!!

Thank you everyone who's given me advice :green:
I will think of "how better the person is going to feel after andddd the money"

Honestly, I had the same problem, but I got over it in school because I got pedicures after pedicures :( And the school I went to had mostly old people coming in, so I had to deal with some brutal looking feet.

I think on my last week there, I passed the ultimate gag test. This 90 year old lady came in and MY GOSH her feet were peeling so much I was scared!

But yeah, you just gotta suck it up an deal with it. My advice is to wear gloves, an apron, and scented antiseptic to spray if their feet smell!
