The way Nottinghamtech explained works quite well without the need of using monomer on the brush to clean up. If the white is cut when the product is still pliable it can come out quite clean.

Popits or enuk etc are ideal for using on your own hands if time is short.

Or like RedAdmiral said, do your harder hand first, you will find in time your nails come out even better than the good hand due to your hand pressure is softer and more even. And placing your arms, hands steady etc make a big difference to control.

Don't ever dip anything in the Monomer bar your brush!! It's not made to have tips or any other tool/implement etc dipped into it. You really should only have the bare minimum out of the bottle to avoid O/E.

I am only a trainee but it seems some of the advice on this website should be taken with a lot more than a pinch of salt.

thread. please.

Nail training is not 'set out' the same across the board as we all no. Unfortunately some training places do not teach the importance of overexposure etc. I have gone to many different places for training and each one is slightly different, and yes... when certain areas are taught that contradict what you have already learnt it makes you wonder. The advice on here is given to help others if it is slightly wrong, then another will be able to educate the geeks more safely etc. There are nicer ways of telling a person they got it wrong, and salt doesn't come into it x

I have seen some salons using a specific metal tool for cutting out the smile line in the way you describe. I'm keen to get my hands on one, but don't know what they're called or where to get them from?

This method is very popular in the States... I've not seen this myself, but it sounds like it wastes product just to save time. (To each his own, of course.) It doesn't sound like the smile line is able to be customized to the client, either, and if you can't do that, imo it makes more sense to just use good white tips.

Uhm, not to sound rude but I believe that it is the definition of insanity : doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result! Anyway I have found that by doing your wrong hand [ I sculpt pink and whites] over and over until I have perfected it, has helped me to become faster and a master at my craft :)! As for your rebalance I use an electric file, again I have found by working on myself that I can gage what my clint will expirience. I have been at it for 18 yrs. and everyday I work at honing my skills . Love, light and peace , Nailgoddess629
