Hi, I have posted a couple of other posts regarding this. I had hair extensions on Saturday & my scalp is red raw from constant scratching they seem to be irrating my scalp. When in bed at night I can feel the bonds in sticking in my scalp. I need them out, how much usually does a salon charge for removal? A friend put them in for me & I don't have the heart to ask her to remove them as it took her so long and she did a good job, it's that they don't suit me.

Please advise someone.

You are maybe allergic to something in the glue and tgis is making you itch. Is your friend a professional?
She should have covered allergies etc in the consultation and wether extensions would be right for you.
You should really go to a salon and get them removed professionally, different salons charge different prices for removal, but...
Why should a salon have to sort out a job that may not have been done properly in the first place.

It may also be that the extensions have been attached too close to the scalp.
Im sure if you explained the problem to your friend and offered to pay her for her time she wouldnt mind removing them.
Salons vary in their prices and may also charge more as the extensions were originally applied my another therapist.
Hope your head feels better soon

Sounds like they are too close to your scalp, is your hair very fine too? just be honest with her its not totally her fault that they are itching you, im sure it will save you quite a bit of money too hehe :) good luck! x

Thank you all for your replies, I went and had them out last night, cost me a bit but I can honestly say it was the best money I had spent. The lady who took them out for me said they were close to my scalp hence the irritation. My scalp had little red lumps in it which the lady said was sensitivity from the glue. My friend did put some tester pieces in a week before but they weren't near my scalp which is probably why they didn't bother me. My neck and all was hurting from the weight of them, I feel slightly liberated now lol. Oh well lesson learnt!

Fayevix, thank you for your reply, regarding your comment about why should another salon sort it out, I understand what you are saying but surely there are people out there who have had bad hair cuts/colours and paid for another hairdresser to sort it it? I paid the lady who sorted it how the price she charged and gave her a very generous tip. I'm having a consultation with her regarding a restyle and colour so it's a win win situation, I have found a new hairdresser and she has a new customer.

Thanks again for you replies! x
