Hi everyone do you think it's possible to get a bad batch of nail product? I have 11 years experience been doing this a long time but for some reason I'm getting a lot of breakages over the past month. At first I was putting it down to clients being off and rushing around at Christmas. But I'm still getting messages about breakages and some from clients who never get a breakage who I've been doing for years. I'm starting to get worried. Nothing is different in my routine nothing is new just replacements of the same products I use cnd been using it for years. Any thoughts?

I had more breakages during the last month too.
I think clients are harder on their nails and taking into account the increase in appointments the amount of repairs will increase too.
Only other thing I can think if is the temperature in your room colder and affecting setting?

Yeah I thought of that but it hasn't been that cold of a winter so far we've had colder. It's getting messages from pple who never break and it's not just one nail either I'm getting worried I've lost my skill??? Is that possible? If this keeps happening I'm going to lose clients. X

The only time I see increases in breakages (with L&P) is when I'm getting to the bottom of a pot of powder. I think its because I tap the pot after each pick up (I like a smooth clear surface) I knock all the smaller particles to the bottom (a bit like shaking a box of cereal and all the big bits come to the top and the dust moves to the bottom).

Once I swapped to a new pot the breakages stopped.

Oh my word I did not know that!! Being a fellow tapper (what is it about a nice smooth surface lol?!!) I've never ever thought of that as being a reason!

Thank you! Xx

Its probably happened 3/4 times over the last 12 years because I always bought the large pots of powder from a budgeting perspective. The first time it threw me completely, nearly everyone came back pretty quickly with at least one breakage and always across the stress point. I could only put it down to the powder so opened a new pot and presto...problems all went away. Same thing a couple of years later so I think that must be it.
