I am thinking of starting my own pre-tipping service for hair extensions and bulk hair and I am wondering if there is a market for this? For me its useful as you can get the sizes you want to fit the rings for example and use your own bulk hair or wefts in better quality. I would have a machine so they look professional and neat. Do you guys think this would be something you would use or do you do it yourself with machine or just a glue pot/gun?

I tend to do mine myself but i should imagine it would be good for people who don't have the time or the patience. I would think you would have to charge quite a lot to make it worth your while though and that might put some people off - depends on your target market really.

Sounds like a good idea

I think there's already someone on the forum who offers this service so there must be a demand for it.

I'm about to attempt it but for the right price I would happily pass it on

I have a Pretipping service and have had for a few years, I pretip for hair suppliers, hairdressers and hair extension technicians across the country. It's time consuming when when you first start but when you get going you can do quite a lot done.

I have got busier and busier with it.

Thanks for your input ladies! It's just im thinking of buying a machine and equipment for my own sake as I buy mainly bulk hair or wefts so wanted to maybe start offering it to Extensionist or salons in and around London. But don't know what the demand would be, especially being on this forum where a lot of extensionists just want the cheapest option out there even though you Can rarely get good quality hair pre tipped and it's worth the extra effort. Lancashirelass Is this something you do on the side then and how many clients for this on a monthly basis do you have if I may ask? Xxx

Hi I do all the Pretipping by hand, I don't use any machine for I-tips and have been looking at the machines for the nail tips for a while but they are just so clumsy looking. They look like a vice you would keep in a garage or shed.

I have ten regular clients who send me hair on weekly and fortnightly basis with quite large amounts so this keeps me busy. I take payments via paypal or card machine. Each client has requirements on size (length and diameter of tip, colour mixing per bond etc.

I think because I have been doing it so long it doesn't take me ages. I have found the right equipment to work with no so it works well for me.
