Hi girls! I've been on the implant for a year now since I gave birth to my little boy. It's actually my third one since I was 18. Lately I've been feeling a lot of pregnant symptoms, sore boobs, sore back, tiredness and this morning I really felt like I was going to throw up. My question is has anyone ever got pregnant on the implant or know anyone who has? I know it's like a 1% chance but that would be my luck lol xx

I had the implant!! I now also have a suprise 3 year old!! I had the implant in and got pregnant!! It was broken in my arm:(

I made the stupid mistake of googling it and read that hundreds of women got pregnant because they weren't put in right! I'm just thinking though because I've had it in over a year would it stop working after all that time? Surely if it wasn't working I'd have got caught out before? Xx

I was on the implant for just over a year and got pregnancy symptoms every month, when i asked the doc she said its a very common side effect to feel pregnant x

Yes I have heard of a fue people getting pregnant on the implant, I was thinking of changing to it a couple of years ago but decided to stay with the pill because if taken properly it is more affective and I also like to know when im going to get a period :-D

I was on the implant for a year and a half and begged them to take it out. I felt continually hormonal, sore boobs and got quite depressed and overweight. I read somewhere that it works by making your body think its pregnant with all the chemicals. But I also agree you can get pregnant on it too, I know 2 people that have got pregnant whilst having the implant in.

The implant needs to be quite deep in your arm to work which then causes problems trying to get it back out, so it's been getting put in not as deep which means it doesn't always work,

But the hormone that's in the implant is the same as when your pregnant
So pregnancy symptoms are common

My friends a midwife,

hope Iv made sense

Do a test, to put your mind at rest

This contraceptive sounds horrific lol.

Why do they offer this if it isn't effective and makes you feel as though your pregnant when ur not.OMG I couldn't think of anything worse :D

I've just had it put in, implanted I suppose haha! All good so far 3 days in but panicking a bit reading this!

No contraceptive is 100% effective. I've been sterilized & was told that even this isn't 100% effective!!

Two of my friends actually both fell pregnant whilst on the pill AND both had the morning after pill! Just goes to show nothing is 100% safe!

Ive had the implant twice now 4 Years in total :)

Working great for me
I just get a regular cycle, No pregnancy symptoms

I love it and trust it.

I had the implant and it was terrible for me I had a period ongoing for 6months! I couldn't take it any longer so I had it removed. I guess it just dint agree with my body as it doesn't with everyone's.
I now have the Mirena Coil and i do get major pains with it quiete recent but I have had any bleeding for 3years now. But does make me wonder that when I have it removed will I be able to fall pregnant as I won't have had a period for 5years. So my body will have stopped naturally producing eggs etc?

Kind of scary actually, but I fell pregnant on the pill so don't want to rely on that, and don't want the injection or that patch you have stuck to your skin as it looks manky after a couple of days!

Take the test and then you'll know either way.

As previously said, no contraceptive is 100% effective. I've known people to get pregnant on the implant and the pill.

Saying that i'm on the pill because i've found it the best one that works for me. I was on the injection for a while, which was really handy but i had so much spotting with it, it drove me crazy xx

Thanks for the advise girls! I took a test today and it was negative. Was a bit sad actually which is a bit crazy! I think its because u start building it up in your head and you imagine it could be true xxx

At least your mind is at rest but I get the part of not wanting to be pregnant but when it comes back negative you almost feel gutted , panic over though Xx
