I know sam what a bummer Rachel rang me to tell me yesterday :cry:
When I had spoken to her earlier in the week she was having a meeting to discuss themes and then now no comps at all!
I really felt for Rachel as she felt so bad - she is so nice x

Hi all,

It is a real shame that Professional Beauty have cancelled their Manchester competition, as I understand how much hard work and money competitors put into preparing for comps, and I also appreciate how many months of expertise has go into them from the organisers' perspective.

I just wanted to confirm the dates for our competitions next year, so you can make put them your diaries:
UK Nail Tech, NEC: Sunday 26th & Monday 27th April
Scottish Nail Technician of the Year, Edinburgh: Sunday 10th May

Denise Wright and myself are working on some really exciting developments, because we know you all want to keep challenging yourselves further each year, and we are keen to bring through fresh talent at each competition whilst giving existing champions something to aspire to achieve too.

We really appreciate everyone who has supported our competitions in their early years, and now that they are firmly established on the competition circuit, we want to develop these further and continue supporting you all with something fresh and exciting. We'll have more details to you all asap!

Just wanted to to say that Rachel and I are so disappointed about the comp being cancelled. Rachel puts in so much hard work behind the scenes preparing for them and having worked with Rachel before and at the shows for the last couple of years I know how much they mean to her. We are both gutted for all the competitors who have been prepping for months and awaiting the themes for the art sections. I was with Rachel yesterday and she spent hours on the phone speaking to as many of the regular competitors as poss as she did not want people hearing 2nd hand.

Rachel and I are running the Dublin comp again this year where there is an International Nail Tech category that all UK techs will be automatically entered into as well as competing in the extension, natural nail and art categories. Please visit Professional Beauty Ireland for further details. This comp has a great atmosphere and you get the benefit of a weekend in Dublin. I have spoken to the show organisers and they are more than happy to welcome all UK techs who would have competed at Gmex and want to put their practice to use.

I spoke to a friend 'on the inside' who says it's the Nail comp is definately ON....and apparently they will also be going ahead with a serious of amazing industry speakers and expanding the Nail Forum - WOW!! :green:

Who was this 'friend'? We have Rachael who organises works for emap saying it has been cancelled and now you (who also works for emap) saying that you have a friend on the inside saying its on!??! Who is right? Your friend or the person who organises these comps for emap? Did emap change their mind this morning?

It seems it is now official that there are no competitions at Manchester now. No need for rumours or 'inside information'.

Working on both the comps and the forum with Rachel I know that the Nail Competition is definitely NOT going ahead. Rachel has been advised by the Exhibition Director that it is definitely "not taking place" and I've read the information myself in black and white.

However, yes, the Forum will be going ahead. Details will be published on this in due course.

Guys, beauty4ever just registered and works for e-map, so maybe they have done a 180. Who knows. Not sure why the message would come from an 'inside source' instead of from their employee who organises the comps.

I know GMG it seems a little odd doesn't it. Maybe they have had a change of heart after all. Rach really doesn't need this. Have been with her all most of today and she is so disappointed about it. Having posts like that will not help.

I have just spoken to Emap/PB and recieved a press release regarding the Professional Beauty Nail Competition. I can now confirm that it WILL be taking place and more information will be in a new geek thread that i will post in nail geek. If you have any comments, please add them to that post so that i can keep up!
