Hi all,

How many of you have receptionists? I have been thinking about this for a while and can't seem to be happy that I can afford one.

If anyone does have a receptionist:

- Are they full or part time?
- Are they value for money?
- have they helped boost turnover?
- how do you find the right one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would depend on where your salon is situated .
And the kind of set up you have currently.
Size of your salon and clientele available.
Do you need someone to make bookings or for clients whattsapp or message you to book?
Do you have lots of passing trade where you can't see to them while busy with a client so having someone in front is advisable.

When I worked in a large salon the reception area was in valuable , there is no ways one can run a salon without one if you have a couple of treatment rooms and retail was large factor.
I now work alone and moved premises in an area where I don't have or want walk by trade so I don't have those other issues which would need a receptionist.

So just make a list of pro and a list of cons.

Remember reception is the face or front of your salon so you can't really hire just anybody either. If they are not good you could also potentially loose clients if they rude etc ..

Receptionists (if you find a good one) are handy to upsell too. So potentially can earn you a lot more in retail/new treatments etc

I've had a few receptionists they were great at first then all seemed to get a bit big for their boots. Shame as it really was a help having one but never worked out for me sadly.
