I am clueless where to start. i plan on taking a basic mani/pedi course alongwith gel nails course(60 hours). it does not include nail art, is this good combination to get me started, or should i train in any additional course.

Who are you planning on doing your course through?

Momentum in UAE (Dubai) are the authorized distributors for CND and offer training on site - they have recently upgraded their website so if you needed more details you would need to speak to them directly.

Blissology is the NSI distributor in Dubai however I'm not sure if they offer/ are affiliated with any training institutions.

i was planning on taking the course from "the nail institute". its a 1 on 1 training and KHDA certified. any idea if its good? or you recommend Momentum?

I don't personally have any first hand experience with The Nail Institute so can't comment on how good their training is.

What I would recommend is taking a look at a few facilities that offer training, see what courses they are offering, the products they use and do further research into how long they have been around, what accreditations they are offering and company ratings.

If you can, go and have a look at the facilities, see if you can speak with the trainer/s and students currently enrolled in the course and get their feedback before making a decision. Ultimately you want the best education out there, with excellent educators and to choose the right trainer/educational facility for what you would like to achieve.

Sorry I couldn't have been of more help xx

I don't live in UAE that's why I suggested looking at what is available in your area. Both CND and NSI offer great training globally that's why I suggested reaching out to Momentum (now known as Monarqi) - CND and Blissology - NSI, as well as looking at what's available to you locally.

Salongeek is actually a U.K. Site and the majority of geeks are located in the U.K. I'm not sure if any are currently in UAE and could offer you better insight.

PS. I'm also not sure If the UAE has any licensing requirements that need to be met
