Resin as a builder gel

Has anyone tried using the resin for attachments as a builder gel? It seems to be the same consistency. Just wondering. I've never tried builder gel before, I'm a poly and acrylics fan.

Gels = resins. Some brands use the term resins for marketing. They are gels.
