Does anyone use bio sculpture gel with rockstar? If so, how many layers of gel etc? Iv tried my first set When I infilled my bio, I love them, but can't help thinking my glitter nail polishes are better and would last the same as a varnish on top of gel an don't take so long? Maybe im just using the wrong glitter? X

Wow they are lovely! How many layers do u do?and when do u cure?
I done a few different ways on each nail:
I done clear, set, glitter, set x2 and then sgel.
And
Clear add glitter, set x2 sgel, cure.
And a few more.
Is that not enough layers though? And they are not smooth
Thanks x

Ahh sorry just re-read and realised u used the actual bio glitters! What numbers are they?

I often get the odd patch that feels rough to touch that is with 2 top coats i have put this down to me not being careful enough when putting the top coat on.

I have a problem with rockstar fingers, i have tried being extra careful and ensuring i get nice and close to the edges with the colour/clear coat but i have been finding after a few days the glitter is wearing away round the edge of the nail, the free edge is fine just down the side of the nail wall, any advice on how to stop this happening? I am ensuring i cover it with top coat and nothing comes of the nail when i wipe with d-sperse, so i can't understand what is going on. I haven't done any on paying clients yet (just myself and family) just because i don't want this happening to them. Any ideas?

Try gently pressing the glitter into the sticky layer after the color coat(s) is/are cured. Making sure to press along the free edge. Also, pull back the lateral folds of the skin and press all the way to the edge of the nail. Then, once the top coat is applied correctly, there shouldn't be any glitter "wearing" from any part of the nail.

This thread is starting to slow. There's pretty much only so many ways you can put glitter on a finger nail. Haha.

However! I found some "icing" glitter that comes in tiny little strips, rather than the tradition "dust." It's a little more difficult to get smooth, but the results are absolutely amazing! Check the picture. This client was SO thrilled with her nails, it just made my day!

Here is one of my all time favorites!:) I have been enjoying this thread for a while and finally decided to join. Rockstar Shellac has definitely been one of our more popular services. I can hardly let someone just pick a regular plain Shellac:) Thank you to everyone who has participated. Keep em coming it's great inspiration.

It's tinsel! I've got a few pots of it. Mine isn't pearlescent like yours looks though so its not as sparkly :(

To be able to do rockstar toes & fingernails is there a course you go on to do this, or would you be able to do these once you have completed the Shellac course?

Thank you 😊 xx

It is! But, the pearlescent type is called "Icing", I'm assuming for the Holidays. :)

I don't live in Europe or know the exact training that's required. But, just from being a part of Salon Geek, I know that there is a Shellac training, but anyone that can do Shellac, can do Rockstars. It's just another type of nail art. :)

Those are beautiful! I have done 2-tone glitter, but never 3 because no one around here wants nails long enough to be able to use more than 2 glitters.

My first ever Rockstar nails, did them on myself using Shellac. I was pleased but very much a newbie so hoping they look okay x
