My client is after a full head highlights but with some flashes of a pinky rose gold.im bit unsure what to use so thought I'd ask for suggestions, shes a base 6 and last had full head blondor and a 10 about 4months ago.i was thinking as I use wella 9/7 with /65 mixtone?or even 10/04 with a touch of /65.ill try uploading the colours she likes but has asked for them in flashes rather than all over x

these are what she's after or even 10/0 and /65 xx

Hey, this looks like a really fun project! The two pics look very different though. I take it she wants the more subtle placement of the second pic, but the bases are very different as well. Just to give me a better picture, what are you planning to use for the newgrowth? Do you plan on doing a root stretch, then slices of rose gold, and toning the rest blonde?

I'm going to follow this as had a client asking for rose gold this week. Have yet to look into it myself xx

Oh I love the first one!!! Gorgeous. Put up pictures when it is complete.

She wants me to still do a full head highlights but just in some foils under her parting to add a rose gold tone,do I do the full head highlights with blondor then once developed go back through foil pieces and tone using a rose gold,or in foils with the blondor use the Rose gold?i was thinking 9/7 and touch of /65 with 12% on her base 6 regrowth then on her lighter ends the same but with pastel?hope im making sense x

I think you'll have to do the highlights, process, then go back in with slices of the rose gold. I'm worried 9/7 with /65 might go a little pinky on prelightened hair. I prefer 9/43 and 8/05. What do you think of that?

I'm kinda worried about her natural color, then the blonde highlights, then the rose gold. I'm scared that will clash. I'd try to steer her away from the retouch on the highlights.

Is that illumina 9/43 I did think that but need it a tiny more pink hue to it,is 8/05 in illumina too?ill try that in equal parts?love illumina but don't know the range that well, thankyou x

In our salon we use framesi... And to get this we use a base 10 in the Demi's, 8.43 (copper gold) and 6.5 (red) in the ratio 30ml 10 5ml 8.43 and 5ml 6.5 and just visually watch it. Not sure that it'll help as she wants it in flashes but thought I'd just say what we use! Pic attached is the first one I did, but didn't use enough 8.43 so I know use the formula above

Yes, both are illumina. I'd mix equal parts 2 parts pastel for the rose gold.

Beautiful work, Tom.

So I used the illumina 15mls 9/43 15mls 8/05 Pastel 1:2 ratio applied on towel dried hair after highlights for 10mins,looked like it had dropped darker so rinsed and when blowdried, couldn't see the colour,so applied onto dry hair, same formula for 10mins looked dark again but once rinsed off same again barely noticeable and needed to be more pink :-( client was fine as Id said I wasn't 100% on outcome and she was happy it was brighter and no roots ha :)

should I leave it longer, apply wet or dry,1:2 mix?hopefully will see it better im daylight tmrw.

I think you should haved left it on for 25 minutes, yes. But the darker patches looks like leftover color?

Oh wow 25 mins?on wet or dry?i got worried as when it was developing it looked like it was going really dark,is that normal with illumina?not the greatest after pic as lightening in her kitchen was pretty dark.i ended up doing Balayage and few foils through the parting then going back through the pre lightened pieces with the illumina x

some more pics x

If you want it more pink I would gloss with instamatic Pink Dream after the 9/43 and 8/05

And remember that's how toners work. They do look darker when processing.

Rose gold is different i think. The formula your using shouldn't go dark. There's not much chance of overtoning. I wouldn't process a blonde toner with illumina for that long usually, no..

Thats great thankyou,I did think about the new pink in instamatic range,im doing it again in August and she's happy to wait til then as Id pre warned her i wasn't sure on outcome :) will keep you posted with another pic x

I used Rose in the igora specials the other day which cane out nice, subtle but nice x
