What does everyone prefer. I trained in both but tend to use tips more. I think I need to do more sculpting as I feel it's quicker and not so messy as you don't need nail glue. Do you use either depending on whether it's hard gel or acrylic? [emoji5]️

Hi, I'm newly qualified and I find that I sculpt wherever possible. I just find it easier, rather than taking the time to stick on tips [emoji4] X

Yeh I was thinking the same. It's less stuff to have to take about too x

I felt the same about sculpting and have been sculpting a lot lately however I done tips on the last set I done and I actually seemed quicker with the tips. No messing around tips were on and acrylic on and I was done. I'm now swaying towards tips lol

Think it also depends on the client. Sometimes the tips seem less fiddly than positioning the sculpts and getting the shape right. Lol. Suppose you'll always have clients that prefer one over the other. [emoji5]️

Definitely!! I've had some clients that have been an absolute nightmare to fit a form on

I really want to train in sculpting, I've had a bit of a play, but would like to do it properly x

I much prefer sculpting and will always choose that option unless it's a severe biter. Then I use tips. Clients somehow think they are stronger and they seem less likely to break/bite them, all psychological but if it works

Im still working towards my portfolio. .. only training in gel acrylic and fiberglass at the mo... however i tried some gel sculpting on 3 of my shorter nails.... and im lov8ng it.... however I've literally just done my thumb using inklondon ijel camouflage and had a massive heat spike... never had one like this before... i did 1 thick layer...:(

It's def worth giving it a go. Sculpting is so much easier sometimes. [emoji5]️

I only sculpt don't even own a box of tips. Just love it. Took a lot of practice but I have only really learned sculpting I trained with nail harmony and they focus on that. Used tips a couple of times in class but they weren't for me xxx

I do both as some clients want sculpts and some want tips.
I find sculpting quicker as there's no need to size then shape the tips

I sculpt 99% of the time. I find it's a stronger tip.

Yep... me too
Likewise. We got a box of forms with the kit for l+p and I've done some sculpts on my own nails which isn't easy as they're ski jumped. I know CND don't endorse pinching the nail but I'd need some pinching on mine to get a decent c curve! One day I'll do a sculpting course but right now I have enough to work on!! X

I did sculpting on my course but hated it. You can get some lovely shapes though and I want to practice but just need to find a unsuspecting victim. I might return to sculpting and practice some more.

The CND forms are really good at creating a decent c curve. Try putting it on tighter

It's not always possible but I definitely prefer sculpting. The strength comes from the product not a plastic tip so sculpted nails are always going to be stronger and it saves time on sizing, pre tailoring and blending tips.

I started scuplting a few weeks ago and loved it but I decided to use tips again last night on myself.
I felt like it took so long to shape and blend the tips than it would've to fit the forms!

I definitely am still struggling slightly with fitting the forms but other than that I find it a much better and faster technique!

Which sculpting course would be most recommended do you think? X
