Im hoping in a few weeks that i can use my files for the last time. Nails is something ive enjoyed doing but now i feel ready to face a new challenge. Ive been offered the position in the childrens home that i wanted and it offers good long term prospects for me, as i have always wanted to go into the social care sector.
So my question is how much do i ask for everything? ideally ide like to sell everything in a job lot, so how do i work out how much to ask, all the stuff is at most 18 months old and like with my airbrush very rarely used. I was thinking of advertising it in the local colleges, as there is everything the budding nail tech needs to set up with plus more. What do u think?

why not try geekbay?

good luck in your new career xx

Hi Hun,

Firstly, good luck with your bright future, glad to hear you got a job that you love.

Secondly, your products, have you thought of puting any on Geekbay? I think the colleges will also appreciate some of your products!

All the best!

Why not sell it on Geekbay?

Get yourself one of those leaflets from the post office that tells you how much postage is and then you can just weigh it at home and quote the P&P costs in your ad.

What stuff have you got?

LOL............we all must have clicked at the same time.

Good Luck with your neww career! It sounds great!!!

What sort of stuff do you have?

Good luck with your future... nice to know youre moving on to something you really want to do.
With regards to selling in colleges... I have seen ads placed and items successfully sold there... mainly airbrushes.

airbrush, compresser, A.B paints, stencils, freehand nailart stuff (gems, paintes, tools etc..), pedicure /manicure kits inc lotions and potions, waxing pot,lotions,strips,etc... , parrafin wax heater, desk, lamp, Creative L&Ps. Smilegem kit, eirpiercing gun (studex) towels, and sundries

I take it you will have several/many clients. Well why dont you advertise your business for sale as a going concern. For example ££££ for the client list and goodwill plus ££££ for stock. I would put the add in the local paper and also make sure that they all know at college. Who knows you may get a buyer.

About 20 years ago, when nails were totally different to how they are these days. I had a mobile nails business up in Halifax which was very very busy. When I moved to Nottingham, I actually split my business into two areas and sold each area to two different people, so the business carried on and the clients were happy with the arrangements as they did not have to find a new tech. And I was happy cos I sold the business TWICE. And the new nail techs were happy cos they had bought an up and running business.

Just a thought. Might not work for you, but I thought I would mention it.

Can I make a suggestion?

Look at all the dear stuff like your airbrush and compresser and ask a realistic price. Do the same with the desk and any other large or expensive items.

Then, I'd box up all the remaining nail stuff and then all the remaining beauty stuff and sell them for X amount each box. Tell them it's all or nothing.

You never get anywhere near what you paid so be realistic. That way you'll get rid of it all at the same time and you'll probably be doing a newbie a favour.

Good luck sweetie. xx

good luck whatever happens :Kissing:
