Hi everyone i'm usually a nail geek but I've just popped over here for a bit of advice.

I used semi-perminant hair dye before and the 1st one was a wella 4 wash one that did nothing, I think the second was Garnier and that worked for about a week so I didn't mind however you could still see the ginger. That was in the summer.

I was wanting to have another go for over xmas what colour will go best to cover my red/ginger, its quite a dark colour not like orangey red.

I like this

Casting Creme Gloss 360 Black Cherry at Superdrug

do you think it would work.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Sorry if it looks like I am picking on you but I am merely using your thread as an example because it has come up.

I have moved this to the Consumer forum as per the details above.

Please, please, please can we give the Hair Geeks the respect which we as nail geeks (particulary) expect.

How would we feel if someone came on to the Nail geek forum and said I am not a nail geek (untrained!) but can you tell me how to do my own nails at home. How would we and have we reacted in the past.

I hope you get where I am coming from.

If you want to ask about OTC products then please do so in the Consumer forum - same goes for Skin questions, if you want to know what products to buy in Tescos or Superdrug or Boots etc, please do so in the consumer forum.

Sorry again if it looks like I picked on you.

It does seem a little bit aggressive you could of just moved it and put this should be posted in here because your not trained but i get your point it was just an inocent mistake

I tried my very best not to sound aggressive (failed obviously LOL).

I know yours was an innocent mistake, however there are two sticky threads at the top of the Hair Forum as I detailed and every single day we move several threads to the Consumer forum.

Sorry if you felt picked on

I thought it was politely moved and explained.

The hair forum is constantly littered with consumer queries.

In answer to the original posters question:

We don't give advice on OTC products as we only use professional products. we also don't recommend colouring your hair at home. This is a specialised area that requires lots of training.

My advice: Seek out a professional hairdresser to do this colour change for you. :)
