Hi Guys

Just need some advice please. I am qualified as a nail tech, eye lash extensions, bridal hair and advanced make up. I am booked to do courses in eye lash tinting, eye brow shaping, waxing and facials next month. I am wanting to offer a complete Bridal Beauty package and do pamper parties but I know this will take time to build a client base. I have been looking at renting a room in a hairdressing salon where I can offer all of the above treatments. The only thing is the salon has only just opened so don't have a huge data base of clients and obviously as I am only just starting I don't have any clients of my own. The salon is in Doncaster. What should I expect to pay to rent a room on a part time basis? Also, do you think it is a big risk going into a new salon self employed when I will be paying rent and have no guaranteed clients. Would I be better concentrating on advertising as a mobile therapist to start with?

Sorry 1 million questions!!!

Hi there,
I've been looking into the same thing for myself where I live for when I finish my level 2 course.
Well I live in Wales and rooms rent at £30-£50 per day depending on how well established the business is, and with no client base to pay that massive outgoing its just too scary as a single mum.

I have considered how I can make room in my house and get clients come to my home, provide them with an excellent service to keep them coming back for more, and then as a loyal customer offer deals if they can refer me to friends etc.

I have started buying in equipment, but considering leaving facials out of my treatment list for now until I make enough money to buy in excellent facial products like Decleor. I will have spent all my money on high quality nail products and the equipment.

P.S. I don't know if I'm answering your question, or asking my own:confused:
