Hi all

Very excited, booked to start my shellac beginners course in 10 days. Just finished the *very* comprehensive pre-exam. Got to admit, as someone new to nails it was a little daunting.... :Scared:

I'm now being a bit impatient, and wondered if anyone could tell me what I will get in my 'kit'? Sweet squared give you a value, but no info on the bits you get included. Mostly just trying to work out how much money I need to save for extras... I just know I will want all the colours!!

Thanks in advance for any help,
Freda

Hi ya I go on the course on sunday and Monday so I will update you after the weekend :)

Oh brilliant - thank you! :)

Well done. Just to warn you, keep studying as there will be another test when you get there. I had no warning on my letter although they did say they would start mentioning it in the future.

I did it last year and got three colours, top and base coat, paper towel and of course, the CND lamp. Also a small bottle of nourishing remover, scrub fresh, cuticle remover etc. basically a kit that allows you to get started straight away.

On completion there's a certificate and a little CND pin to put in your uniform.

I think that's it. If I remember anything else I'll update.

omg what does the test involve there ?

Don't panic :)

It's another multiple choice like you've already done.

Some of the Questions are slightly more in depth. Questions on lateral folds, the matrix etc and some basic questions you'll have already have encountered about various CND products you'll be using. Just swot up using your study book an you'll be fine.

Make sure you also know your nail infections as they came up in mine.

The pass mark is 80%

Should just add its a great course and you'll love it.

I'm doing the spa mani and pedi next month with the aim of doing Art and Design in the next couple of months.

With that and a Gel II course as soon as I can get booked in, my brain won't know what's hit it.

I'm doing the Shellac course end of January with Ellisons, don't think this involves a test well haven't been told this :/

Great 80 % doesn't sound to hard .... my memory is like a sive don't they do this at the end of the course it seems a bit much to expects before you have even been taught anything:Scared:

Thanks so much for this - gives me an idea that I need a bit of spare cash to buy more colours!
I did have an email warning of a test on the evening of the first day? I wasn't expecting the last one to be so tricky, so I will definitely study more thoroughly. I kept wanting to check the book, but couldn't find the section in the time limit!

Hi all, sorry to jump on this but I'm about to do that same course and I got a quiz link the other day. Can someone tell me if there is a timer on each question? There is a LOT in that book and if there is a time limit I'm not going to do the test until the very last day as there is no way I know everything off by heart yet!

Yes there is a timer per question! I think it's 20-30 seconds per question roughly
I would do the quiz as soon as you can as you can then ask them to re send you a new quiz if you failed the pass mark. But if you leave it too late then you don't get much time to ask for new quizzes
