Hi All,
I've recently had all my Shellac training :) unfortunately I can't quite afford the CND led lamp until Jan, so I won't be offering it to my clients until then. However my Mum is going on hols next week and always gets Shellac done before she goes, but would rather I do them for her this time (plus it's good practise for me!!) I know the CND lamp is best but JUST for mum I will do it for her, so would you suggest curing each step for an extra minute in my current UV lamp to ensure full curing??
I'd really appreciate the advice from any seasoned geeks out there (but as I said I KNOW the CND lamp is best and I will get it before doing Shellac for any clients :) so just interim advice needed please) xx

Nope, you know from your training its not the amount time of curing, it's the LED/UV spectrum that cures the product so a different lamp issuing a different spectrum won't correctly cure the product. Then she'll get chipping and peeling whilst she's away and that won't be nice for her or you.

I was hoping that someone may have tried the extra curing and been ok :( because I know in the training all the spectrum stuff had been explained and I also know they have created a unique product and their lamp has been created to be perfect for the product etc ... I guess it was just wishful thinking that I could do it for her this once and be ok.
Thank u for taking the time to reply though :)

That's a great idea, thank you! I have a load of Vinylux colours, so that could be a good compromise!! Xx

Where did you do your training? The cost of the beginners Shellac class includes a full kit and lamp.

I bought my kit off someone who was s2 known as they'd trained there and done loads of courses but for refused a place on the conversion course because I hadn't officially bought the kit from s2 or Ellisons so surprised they let you loan a kit!!

They never asked for proof of where I'd bought it??? (Or not in my case!!!) I booked the course off s2 as well so I know it was a legit conversion course!!! How weird
