Thanks so much for this fabulous thread.
I've just bought 30 x 18mm round cabochons with ring base and blank. Slightly more expensive than some but wanted to have the ring and blank/surround. Can't wait to get them!

Thanks again all xxx

Are you all using Shellac or has anyone tried with normal polish?

These are brilliant. I picked up some earrings today (set of 12 from hobbycraft) which were cheap as chips so I can start doing some bits. Then I'm going to make my sister a Christmas present :) theyre are some beautiful silver plated bits on ebay (bracelets, pendants etc) x

I don't know about everyone else but I was going to get a bottle of gorilla glue. It sticks anything and everything, it's brilliant x

I use diamond glaze to stick anything to the cabochon and e6000 to stick the glass to the setting. Quite cheap on ebay.

Love playing about with these. Some lucky clients this year :)

These look great, could you tell me what size they are please as I have the 18x13mm and I think i would like some bigger ones for variety,x

Do you all use a ring blank on the back of the cabochon's or just stick them straight to the ring bases? Also do you all file the back of the cabochon before painting? xx

Thank you :)
I got them in Hobbycraft. Cheaper on eBay but I'm going to compare ring quality. This one is really good though

I have a new addiction! Just painting some stones now! :)

Here's one of mine using Limeade and a purple glitter.

This was a practice as it had a crack in the stone, but still pretty :)
