Shooting a skit/movie - salon essentials

Hi.

I joined this site because we are in the middle of skit or movie type film.
We got requested to shoot a skit on bad salon service, one of our fans requested to do this.

We are in the need of some assistance.
We have a room which we are going to model like a salon, but we will need some salon essentials. None of us have experience in the 'salon' therefore it's quite hard.

I found this forum by doing a little of googling.
I would like to ask you - What do you say is basic salon equipment/essentials.

What would you recommend that we need to buy?

Please bare in mind this is a one off thing therefore we won't be needing the best of the best, but we want it to look professional.

This will be for a hair salon.

I think your best bet would be to go get your hair done in s local salon and observe in real time

All salons have the same basic kit but if you want it to look reasonably realistic it's the brands of the tools/products you need to pay attention to, ideally if your on a budget get all electrical items with no branding at all on them (so they can't be identified as £9.99 from Argos lol) and just spend out on real products with branding (I always look at what products a salon uses on TV lol) you could even ask a local salon to give u their empty cans/bottles just for show.

Brands you'd find in a salon (just a few) would be
Whal (clippers)
GHD , cloud 9, corioliss. (straighteners)
Head jog, denman (brushes)
Products (hairspray, gel etc) list is too big to list do I suggest you look somewhere like salonsdirect.com and pick out a bunch or as said before get empties from a local salon

You'll also need
Trollies, Gowns, towels, scissors, electricals like tongs, dryers, clippers & straighteners, & a good selection of brushes, will it be just the salon hairdressing area on the film or will it be back rooms etc?

We could maybe put pics of our salons during the day when their busy so u can get an idea of what it would be like?

Why don't you try and film it in a salon?

Also, is it hair or beauty? @kahuna hair does hair and I do beauty, so different answers.

If it's beauty, my salon is available for a fee

Depending how long it might take, would a local hair salon be willing to lend you a few bits of kit?

We haven't decided yet, but it will be in one of our offices in either London or Brighton.

I don't know why that is, it must be some error. I'm definitely not in Croatia.
I mean, we have some work being done with the internet in the office at the moment, so it might be why; I don't know, but I'm definitely not.
