I have a client coming in to get silver/grey hair. I know I need to get her to pale yellow first but does anyone have a good color formulation? I use Shades EQ by Redken and Matrix SoColor and ColorSync

Thanks!!

I use loreal.... 9.02 to make a clean blonde and remove any yellow, then 9.11 for the grey... don't know if you can translate to your colour brand.

I use Matrix quite a bit but I use Kenra metallics. I did see a chart online for silvers though. I always pre tone after lightening with Olaplex with ColorSync 10v then rinse and tone again with your silver. This eliminates all of the yellow so your silver won't look muddy. Hope this helps!

Ok-well any of her ends that you want to be silver or grey need to be lightened to at least level 10(I always use Olaplex in my lightener)then you would pre tone the lightened hair with a 9 or 10v and melt the root are into the toner with a semi permanent level 5N/5V. Rinse and then tone the ends again with a silver. I would use Kenra 8 or 10sm and 8 or 10vm depending on how light you can get her. I always finish with Olaplex #2 then a very good deep conditioner. These fade very fast so no heat styling, wash as little as possible in cold water and at home care of Olaplex #3(you can add a few drops of a grey or silver direct dye)and Celeb Luxury Viral silver shampoo is a must for my clients
