According to the EU Cosmetic regulations, if a product has a shelf life of less than 30 months, the date has to be stated the label. If more than 30 months, this is not required, but for these products there must be stated the period of time after opening for which the product is safe and can be used without any harm to the consumer. This can be written in text or shown as a symbol where the number represents the months.
