Hi all,

i have recently started spray tanning from home and my spray tans are near to perfect except my clients feet and hands are EXTREMELY dark and patchy. Knuckles look terrible and feet are soooo dark.

Ive heard applying barrier cream before the spray tan helps to avoid this?

Has anyone got any pointers for me?

Thanks :)

Hi, I think the answer to your problem would be just go lightly over the hands and feet, by putting barrier cream on will stop the tanning all together.

Hope this helps :) x

Light barrier cream application will help also not staying feet, fall out from spraying rest of body usually is enough for feet. What tan solution are you using, one we used was bad for grabbing around wrists and needed more barrier cream than usual. Barrier cream should be very light ie rub your hands together then wipe over area sparingly.

I am using MyTan Envy.

As im not qualified I am limited to the solutions i can use (usually just buy solution off ebay) as i cant go into a wholesaler and purchase anything.

Yeah i think i might go buy some barrier cream because i feel like i am spraying the body evenly. Just hands are so spotty and feet are almost black :|

It's worth doing a course, if your charging people for it. I learnt in salon but can buy from most major brands here you need a ABN not a Cert to purchase. Oztan and black magic are good tans to use they are a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. I've tried a few and these two are the most natural and best fade off I've come across so far.

opps ...not sure what the legal requirements are like in OZ but I would certainly check with your insurers to see if you are covered for undertaking paid treatments to clients without formal training and certification

Better to be safe than sorry x

Thanks i will have a look at those tans!

Yes i am definitlely considering doing a course for that exact reason. I do have an ABN though for other work i do.

Thanks for the help guys! :)
