Hi. Sorry if this has been covered.

I don't have time to do free hand nail art so am looking for a stamping pen or plate etc.

I just wanted to know if this can be used with Gelish?

I've heard about Konad? Is this any good?

Thanks X

You can stamp on gelish, if that's what you mean?

I don't use gelish I use CND but believe the concept is the same. For stamping I complete the full manicure and remove the tacky layer after top coating, stamp, and re top coat, never had a issue with it not lasting [emoji4]

I have three moyou London plates and their double ended stamper and find them extremely easy to work with [emoji4]

Hope that helps X

I use cnd but leave the sticky inhibition layer on, transfer image onto stamp and leave to dry for a sec then transfer onto nail and top coat. This way means less clear up and virtually no polish left on the skin as the dry polish only adheres to the sticky layer not the skin. I use MoYou London and yours loves sascha Gossen plates and love them.

I've stamped with gelish. It works fine. I did remove the inhibition layer. Your images will transfer very much depending on the Stamper and the plate you don't necessarily need the sticky layer to help you. But that said I believe it could work either way. Unless you are using a sticky Stamper, in which case you don't need the inhibition layer really.

Also with Gelish or any other polish it's all about the pigmentation of the color itself. I.e.: if you know the color is not that opaque and takes 3+ thin layers to get opaque you know it will not be that visible when stamping with it.

For stampers it's all a matter of taste and budget. My first one was a konad double ended. But I feel the marshmallow stampers you have around nowadays are so much better. I bought my favourite from rainbow connection UK and it is the creative shop Stamper.

Plates are everywhere, the cheaper they are the worst. As everything in life!

YouTube is going to be a valuable source of information for you. There are loads of techs doing product reviews. For stamping I'd recommend Sarah R. Or even nonaphilippa. Go check them out!

Please please please be careful if your stamping with gel polish exposure on the skin can cause allergies. It's best to use a regular polish to stamp onto the Gelish manicure then top coat it.

I didn't even know you could stamp with gel, that seems very expensive [emoji87] I assumed she just meant can you stamp onto gel hahaha oops

I know people have tried! Lol I'm not sure either but I wanted to post it just in case

No gel polish is the wrong consistency for stamping. We use stamping polish (some normal polishes work ok if they're highly pigmented enough)

I use both, and yes even with nail varnish it depends in the consistency. It never gets on the skin, because I control the image size, so no risk of exposure.

Fisou which gel polish do you find you can stamp with?

Personally I wouldn't risk it.... And wasting gel polish too :/

I agree opinaillove, but I didn't even think it was possible from what I'd read on here

I know I tried once but since the gel doesn't "dry" it just smeared all over.... - I had a latex barrier on my skin....

That was my thought, with most gel polishes offering a complimenting varnish line why would you waste gel stamping? So expensive (and messy!)

Any colour that is opaque on one or two coats.

I see all your points, yes it is expensive, and that is why I don't use it on clients ;) I use it when I am doing it on myself, testing out design combos, etc. The fact that you can cure the stamped image makes it really simple to double stamp, try different things, and not mess things up. I do agree that commercially it would not be viable.

You can stamp with gel polish, it's a good idea to protect the skin first so you don't get any uncured gel on the skin.

The colour is never opaque but can leave a sticky pattern on the nail to adhere foil to. the nail must be Matt first to obviously avoid the foil sticking to the rest of the nail! ;)
