Hi ladies
I'm a fully qualified beautician with just over a years experience in a salon. I left at the end of August due to being treated unfairly. I'm wanting to start out on my own and was wondering how some of the self employed/mobile/home based ladies built up their clients! I do have a couple but would love a bit of advice/stories of how you all built your client base! Thanks x

Hi Rosie I'm on the same boat, I'm working up to full time mobile while working 35hrs in a salon I'm desperate to get out of. U ordered flyers off vista print and went round housing estates with them, I've built up a clientele with it so far, make a website as well. Xxx

Hi lovely, it's great that your going for it and setting up on your own! As Beautylou said, get some fliers made, leaflet drop in letter boxes, hand them out near ladies clothes shops, ask if shops will take some and put them in their staff room, drop off in cafes. Also Facebook advertising, do competitions, offers every month, big yourself up & have an album of your qualifications, leave your business card in as many places as possible, ask friends to hand them out. Maybe do loyalty cards or refer a friend cards, join Facebook groups where you can advertise, get a sticker made for your car...the options for advertising are nearly endless! Just go for it :) it may be quiet to begin with but don't give up! Xx
