Hi fellow geeks! I need your advice. I have been sterilizing my mask brushes in barbacide but they have been tinted blue which makes them look really grubby. How do you sterilize yours without turning them blue?? xx

I Put mine in a uv cabinet hth

Thank you! Do you scrub them first and dry them before they go in? xx

First of all.... barbacide will not sterilize anything. it is the lowest grade of disinfection. The best way to clean your brushes are to clean them very well with an antibacterial soap and then let them air dry.... pretty simple and very affective.

Really?? I never knew that! I sterilize most things with it. How do you sterilize your metal implements? Would an antibacterial soap really sterilize? What about viruses like MRSA, HIV etc???? xx

I dont use a mask brush i use my fingers to apply my mask.

No antibacterial soap does not sterilize.... the only thing that sterilizes is an autoclave. Sterilization is not required in a salon.... but hospital grade disinfection is. It is impossible to sterilize a brush.

Unless you are dealing with bodily fluids, sterilization is not required.

As far as metal implements go, I scrub with an antibacterial soap, dry and spray with a hospital grade disinfectant that kills HIV, Hep, etc....
