Hmm, just had an email from Breast Cancer Care & they mentioned about people organising a 'Strawberry Tea' in the summer. (Strawberry Tea 2011 : Breast Cancer Care - Support and information for anyone affected by breast cancer)

Now, I was going to introduce a Strawberry Daiquiri Collection of products for fellow therapists.... Should I change it to Strawberry Tea instead so all parties can get more PR & subsequently raise more funds??

I'm sure with a bit of planning, local publicity could be great as there are soooo many things you could do strawberry related.

There's some great info & ideas on the site.

Have many of you been involved with charity campaigns before?

Fab idea, I would be interested on this x

I'm happy to do a freebie campaign logo for this if you want me to. Breast Cancer has affected my family quite a bit over the last 10 years or so...drop me a line if you want :)

i don't think 'tea' sounds as exotic or luxurious. but if it's going to make you more money... that's what you want at the end of the day isn't it?

but i really just wanted to say your goodies (ooh er haha) look and sound absolutely delicious! the way they look reminds me of the yummy scrummy home made marmalades and jams you'd find in a farm shop down a country lane... they really do look good enough to eat! i wish you all the success inthe world with your body treats! :D x

Thanks for the replies peeps :)

My head is swimming with ideas at the moment. I posted about it on my facebook & a friend of mine who has organised a few charity table top events is really keen to organise something locally. For eg, stalls selling strawberry themed products like cakes & cards etc We have a farm shop close by which is infamous for its pyo strawberries so Sharon has been in touch with them to get to use their premises as a venue for the event.

I've been looking at my suppliers sites to see what ingredients I can use to make some fabby products.

Have been in touch with somebody in PR & am just waiting for her to get back to me.

So all in all, looks like some busy times coming up...

This is a fab idea! I just posted a thread about charity events and beauty combined.

I was thinking of running some sort of charity event soon to raise money for the charity and this sounds a great idea! x

Thank you

I haven't finalised details as yet but the initial plan of action for my own salon is to offer the Strawberry Daiquiri body treatment (scrub, massage, body mask wrap, moisturise) using my own products. A percentage of said treatment will go to BCC. Will 'haps make some cupcakes & offer those to clients who book in for the treatment.

Am thinking I may make some cupcake style bath bombs & again give a percentage of sales to BCC.

I've got quite a few salons interested in having the products in, including a Saks salon :green:. My initial idea is that I will donate a percentage of the kits to BCC or maybe even supply some cupcake style bathbombs or soaps, which the salons can retail to clients.

The event at a local PYO strawberry farm may not happen now as the owners husband sadly died this week (ironicly of cancer, which he'd been battling for some time!)
