Aveda and specifically Horst should be applauded for the eco consciousness that he brought to the hair industry. My point is even with that level of eco awareness, they use "evil" preservatives because they are simply the best, most realistic way to prevent total waste of the products through spoilage.

To the OPs question:

does anyone know of any products that are entirely natural and chemical free?

Nope.
1. Its impossible for chemical free as anything you can see or touch except for energy is a chemical (common misconception that natural is opposite of chemical when they are both the same thing)
2. All products (even the most eco aware) require synthetic additives to ensure that they do not spoil and cause problems.

That doesn't mean one should not support eco aware products, it just means that it isn't such a black and white issue as some might think.

I hope I am right in what I am saying! If not, feel free to correct me!

I have done more research and I have found out that parabens are a class of chemicals which are used as preservatives and can cause skin irritation but can also be found naturally in plant sources! It just goes to show that not all natural chemicals are harmless! I guess that is the reason why there are paraben free products, regardless of the fact that the preservative may be natural!

Chemicals, natural or not, can cause skin irritation. So, even if there was such a thing as a product which was all natural or chemical free, there will be people who experience skin irritation through the use of these products. Why is it it that all natural or chemical free products are favoured over those with man made chemicals?! Is it that man made chemicals are more harmful in general than natural chemicals?!

I have found an article:

I am not sure what to think anymore!

I personally wouldn't take any notice of an article that used the term 'zits'!
