Hello all,

I have been trying to achieve the perfect copper for a long time now. About 9 months ago I had it pre-lightened and started using the punk colours Special Effects which came out lovely and bright (I love them bright) then I heard about Majicontrast which we used and again came out lovely. The only problem I have is it has a yellowy undertone (probably due to the previous pre-lightening) and fades quite a lot but I have no problem with the upkeep and keep it topped up every week. I am tempted to try the Majirouge or Majirel colours as I have heard they have better staying power? My natural colour is a mousey brown maybe an 8, would these colours lift as well as Majicontrast and which colour would you recommend, I love it REALLY bright, almost orange.

Many thanks in advance.

Majicontrast is not designed for global head application. It is designed for partial colour, hence why you are having problems. Also if you are trying to use it to refresh the colour on the ends, it will make the problem worse and worse.

Majirouge and majimode are designed for global application, although both look similar they have different uses. If you read the technical notes in the shade chart, you can work out which is right for you.
As I can't see your hair or feel it, I cant advise further.

Thanks so much for your reply Persianista, that makes sense now. My hairdresser doesn't use it on the ends as they are pre-lightened she just adds water to the colour and uses that. I am going to ask her to use the Majirouge range next then 7.46 Copper Red Blonde? I can't find a good shade chart so am hoping this will be a good colour. Thanks for your help.

hi, ask for 7.45 with copper mix and 3% x

Brilliant, thanks so much for your replies.
