Is anyone thinking of doing some promotion or charity event for Breast Cancer in October?

I was thinking of a pink martini & manicure night or do the "wear it pink" thing on the 28th Oct and offer pink file & polishes using OPIs special promo pink and retailing creatives pink braclets at the events.

I'm clueless at how to organise stuff so if anyone has done this type of thing...any advice?

Oooh that sounds a good idea, youve got me thinking now! Anything is good for charity eh! How bouts a pinky pampering evening, get guests to wear pink, have raffles for pink things and make pink nibbles, drinks etc? Could get carried away cos i luuurve pink!!

I was thinking about giving a percentage of takings from any service that involves pink polish (any shade) to breast cancer charity for the whole of the month of October.

And any retail sales of pink polish.

What do you think?

And is it ok to do this? What percentage would be a reasonable amount to give to charity without undercutting myself (I've only just started trading and can't afford to lose out but really want to do something for breast cancer).

Or is this a rubbish idea altogether :?:

i think this is a great idea.a real pinkie girlie night donating anything is better than nothing at least you are making an effort
well done you.

I'm bumping this back up as I need some inspiration, I've just received my box fully of goodies so I want to raise as much as I possibly can. I'm a big supporter of Breast Cancer so I'll have a few nights during the month with diff things organised.

I'm thinking: a coffee morning in the village, a cocktail night with my mates, Customer appreciation night in the shop and mayb a bake sale after mass..........but what shall I do at them? like the idea of pink food but what else?

OOh, fairy cakes with pink icing, lush

When I worked for Body Shop I used to team up with an Ann Summers Rep and do a joint party for fundraising. Instead of giving the host a gift we donated the equivilent in cash - we would also do a raffle and Irish bingo to raise some more cash.

What abouts ~
Pamper raffle - approach all the local salons/ hairdressers to donate a treatment and the local pubs to donate a bottle of Rose Wine or Baja Rosa Liquier. Sweet shops for the obvious chocolate

Girly Quiz night - all Sex and the City, Nails, Shoes and lipstick!

what a great idea with the pamper package!! i think people would really go for that. id like to do something to raise money too, as a friend of mine has suffered from breast cancer, luckily shes ok again now, but its a charity i feel strongly about! xx

I also do Avon. They do lots of products that donate money to the Breast Cancer Crusade, we have been doing "Shake It" Parties (they did CD and wigs etc) I would like to combine this with a nail event but am not qualified yet so maybe next year. Real shame as got loads of ideas I could do!

heres my idea - what do u all think.

throughout october - i'm going to offer the 'pink mini manicure' for £5 and donate half to charity. do you think half is a reasonable figure of more/less.
just a mini manicure with a pink polish.

any advice on prices/donations etc would be helpful as im hopeless when it comes to stuff like that.

the ideas there it just needs a bit of work. xx

I dont have enough customers to be able to retail them myself:cry:
