I would use a base 7 with 8.5vol (2.55%) mixed 1:1 . . 8/73 is a lovely colour

I have covered grey very succesfully by using this mix: 3/4tube 7/0 1/4tube 8/73 with 3 inches of 0/22 violet mixtone. Mix with 65ml activator. Allow to process without heat for 40-45 minutes :)

Let me know how you get on xx

Scottydolly, I'm doing this today minus the viol mix tone as worked out too expensive for one client .... I tested the hair with just 7.0 it wasn't a fab grey coverage but it blended As just quite dark, so went and bought the 8/73 hopefully that will lighten up a bit and give more coverage thanks for the advise and I will let u know ow I get on later... Also would u advise go straight on roots to ends ( ends are coloured well highlighted with bleach 6.8 and 10.03 ) I'm flooding this tigi in between foils on half head .... Wld ur suggest putting on roots first then ends so they don't go to dark? Her hair is quite porous x

It came out good with good grey coverage however little darker than we had hoped so hopefully next time it would have faded enough to just use 8/73 with extra 8 I'm guessing to help cover roots? X

sorry i didnt reply earlier i was working, yeah it will have faded, especially on the lighter ends so going in with the 8 on the roots next time and just do a colour refresh on the ends x glad it turned out good for ya. you should look into there new colour too if you liked it, it is apprently greatly improved, the website excited me ALOT. . . THE THINGS U CAN DO WITH IT. . . *drools* x

How odd my client had a skin test on a and behind ear with no reactions but day after colour carried out she's itching like mad and has little spots appearing on her head which are sore! How can this be when carries out a skin test??? Gonna ring tigi tomorrow but wondered if anyone else had experienced this? X

hmmm ive never had any clients report this, i have had clients mention a tingling while the colour is on/being rinsed off, but i was told from the off by tigi it has chamomile extract which can cause a tingling sensation while the colour is in contact with the scalp. did you use tigi activator? not sure if that wud make a huge difference or not, just an idea. hope tigi have an answer for you though and i hope your clients scalp is ok x

I used regular peroxide 3% this is also what I skin tested her with :( yeah me to, shame as was a lovely colour xx

hmmm very odd :( give her a wee tinkle and see how it is tomoro, let me know wot tigi hav e to say for themselves :) x

I will, thanks x

Tigi's new colour is ppd free but they have only replaced it with ptd which most likely would irritate someone who reacts to ppd! It's the same with the ammonia free colours, they are just replacing it with MEA an ammonia substitute!
