Tips on long nails?

Ive has training and experience in gel nail extensions using tips (not acrylic yet, starting course very soon!) but i’ve had a client ask if it’s possible to keep their nail growth under tip?

I’m not sure if i’ll have to trim them down or not because I’m worried it might be a bit weak even under the gel if i apply it 1-2mm from the free edge on the disconnected part of the nail? just because of the stress point being right over the edge of the tip, right?

I use well less tips by the way, could anyone more experienced help?

I’m a little confused, as this morning you posted a thread asking for exactly the same help with your own nails, but then deleted it when asked if you were a qualified nail professional.

Can you clarify please, as we are not permitted to give step-by-step instructions to those who are untrained?
