Toner advice?

I have bleached hair with around an inch of dark blond/mousy brown regrowth at the root, it's going to be a couple of weeks till I can get to the salon for a touch up and toner but my lengths are getting brassier and more yellow by the day! I wouldn't dare touch up the root myself as my stylist would probably kill me so was thinking of putting a toner on to help with the brassiness on the lengths, my question is what will the toner do to the regrowth? Will it affect the colour at all?

I have bought Proclere Herbal toner but not quite sure how to use it as the instructions are quite vague, should I apply it to wet or dry hair? Do I need to use the crystals for removing brassy tones?

get a good blonde shampoo, that would hep with the brassyness.

i use to use loreal shine blonde that was good , it was purple so sort of acted like a toner
