Not at all, I was agreeing with you and referring to the HMRC woman when I said she was trying to confuse people. You are quite right in that we should simplify accounting matters, so that people don't need to waste time worrying about bookkeeping, or phoning HMRC, or paying an accountant unneccesary fees, for something they could adequately do themselves.

Sorry SJK, I must have read your post wrong!

It's ridiculous really, because rather than help, they hinder. A lot of people can be put off doing their own accounts by HMRC's advice. When really it is so simple to do yourself.
