Hi there
I was hoping I could get some advice here, I'm 33 (outch!) and I've decided to stop thinking about becoming a hairdresser and to just do it.....but ofcourse I have my doubts about the courses, how much i'll learn from it, will I get a job with those qualifications etc. I was told I need to do the vrq because it is for adults and nvq is for apprentices, and I'm too old to be an apprentice! Anyway I got mixed information about the content of the vrq and how much i'm going to learn from it, basically I know how to deal with people and communicate well, but what i'm thinking is can I just do the vrq2 and then do some short courses in college on classic, creative cutting rather than study another year? I'm told it is just basic cutting, colouring etc that is dealt with on the vrq 2, but maybe it's possible for me to further myself without drawing it out, I mean are any of you salon owners, and would you employ someone that is older and has a lower qualification or any of you dine the vrq, I cant find any reviews on it. Thanks, I'd appreciate any feedback!
